It's always sad to see when a classmate has passed away. I was friends with Joyce during our junior high school years, as we didn't live far from one another. We always had fun and I joined the swim team with her at Penbrook Pool. Unfotunately, I couldn't take the COLD water that early in the morning, so I quit. But Joyce persevered.
I didn't keep in touch with Joyce, but although she was shy, she was a good friend with a good heart. That is how I will alays remember her.
