Central Dauphin High School
Class Of 1972
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Shakur Starling, Central Dauphin outmuscle Imhotep Charter for first PIAA 6A basketball title – Rapid recap

Story by Eric F. Epler, pennlive.com

Every appearance by Imhotep Charter in the championship round of the PIAA basketball tournament has ended in celebration.

Then along came Central Dauphin.

Junior guard Shakur Starling put the Rams on his shoulders Saturday, scoring 24 points to shove Central Dauphin past the mighty Panthers 52-49 in the 6A championship at GIANT Center.

Shakur registered 24 points and fellow guard Jelani Easter totaled 10, including a timely And-1 in the final seconds to undercut a 49-all battle.

The title was Central Dauphin’s first in program history. Latief Lorenzano-White’s 14 points paced the District 12 champions, who wiggled to Hershey a perfect 10-0 in PIAA finals.

The Panthers (24-7) had cleared four state championships since 2019.

Please note that the CD Class of 1972 55th Reunion is planned to be held on June 5, 2027 at Duke's in Wormleysburg. Further details to be announced. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
