Born in Valley Forge, PA.. She was the daughter of the late O'Berry and Ellen (Hopkinson) Lancaster and also preceded in death by her sister, Susan Lancaster Ziegler, class of '63.
June worked for various companies, Book of the Month Club, Kinney Shoe and Ben Franklin. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Mechanicsburg VFW Post #6704.
Family and friends fondly remember her great sense of humor and outgoing personality. She enjoyed arts and crafts but most of all spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bruce D. Beard, her son Michael D. Beard and wife Leslie of Lemoyne and two grandchildren, Sydney and David, two brothers, Ken Lancaster, class of '67, and his wife Emily of Mechanicsburg and Barry Lancaster, class of '62, and his wife Arlene of Annville and several nieces and nephews.
