In Memory

Steven Spade

Stephen T. Spade, 62, of Fort Wayne, IN, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at his home.
Born September 18, 1954 in Danville, PA, he was the son of Elizabeth Yvonne (Markey) Spade, of Mechanicsburg, and the late James F. Spade.
A talented glazier, he practiced his trade for many years in Harrisburg, State College, and Fort Wayne. Locally, he worked for Hershocks, Inc., and, later, for Weaver's Glass and Building Specialties, Inc. He was a longtime member of the glaziers' union. Evidence of his craftsmanship remains today in many public and private buildings and other structures of all types and sizes in central Pennsylvania.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman. Among his happiest days were those spent with his father, brother, Jim, and friends hunting deer, bear, pheasant, and other small game. He enjoyed spending time at "camps" in Juniata and Potter Counties and often capably assumed the role of camp cook. He also loved to fish, joining his father and brother on fishing trips to Canada and other destinations. Steve was particularly happy fishing the Susquehanna River in the area of Dauphin Borough and fishing for trout in small streams in the mountainous sections of Pennsylvania.
He was a 1972 graduate of Central Dauphin High School, where he was a member of the wrestling team during his sophomore year. He was a very good all-around athlete and played for many local youth and adult recreational baseball, softball, football, and flag football teams.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James F., Jr., and Ann M. Spade, of Camp Hill; his sister, Ann E. Lamoureux, of Mechanicsburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Raymond P. Lamoureux.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Danville.
Arrangements are being handled by Brady Funeral Home, Danville. www.pennlive.com/obits
